I'll be posting race reports in the forums, to link to them the newsletter. This was written by Nicola Morris:
Hi All
I'm sure those of you who weren't able to make it down to Folkestone on Good Friday are eager to hear all about our day trip to the coast....
I could tell you all about the very interesting conversations in the car on the way down...but what goes on day trips to Folkestone stays on day trips to Folkestone! Lets just say that at one point fairly early on, I had to lock the car doors to prevent Team Withers (who had bravely stepped up to the mark at the last minute) trying to make an early escape. The weather looked increasingly bleak and drizzly as we headed towards the coast but I tried to keep the team's spirits up by optimistically suggesting that the sun was trying to break through (whilst hoping that nobody had spotted the windscreen wipers working overtime).
Luckily we arrived early enough for Team Withers to pick up on the day entries which meant that neither of them had to run wearing a blond wig pretending to be Ana!!!
The race itself starts with a lap and a half round a park then out to the seafront, along to Folkestone, through some botanical gardens and back to Hythe finishing in the park. The gloom and fog seemed to lift and race conditions were actually pretty good as we set off - with just a bit of a head wind as we turned back just after half way.
Richard W and I used the race as a practice running at marathon pace - and I have to say it was actually very enjoyable running along at a steady pace - and it was surprising the number of runners who had clearly gone out too fast that we overtook in the last few miles while keeping to our pace. Maybe these coaches do talk some sense after all?!?
Anyway, most importantly after the race we all had buttered hot cross buns - and then found a very nice fish and chip restaurant for post race refuelling... See what you all missed!!!
As to the race results - there were 657 finishers and the winner was Michael Coleman of South Kent Harriers in 53:53!!! The TWH results;

26 Mark Gamage Tunbridge Wells Harriers 495 1:02:18 01:02:21 M 40 to 49
